The Honourable Lucien Arthur BEAULIEU

1933 – 2016

It is with deep sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of our dearest Lucien on December 29, 2016 with his devoted wife Joan of 54 years at his side. His wisdom, love and understanding will be sadly missed by his sons André (Joelle) and Noel; his foster sons Danny and Hughie; and his three outstanding grandchildren Braedon, Blake and Alexa. Predeceased by his brothers Roger, Thomas, and Robert; sisters Alma, Sr. Adelaide I.B.V.M, Angeline and Roseanne. He will be missed by his brothers Joseph, Jean-Louis (Annette) and his sisters Rita, Celine, and Denise as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lu’s professional life was an extraordinary journey. He began as a Social Worker with the CCAS and was a group home father when he met and married Joan who accepted the challenge of being his wife and mother of his 7 foster sons while attending Law School. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1968, appointed to the Ontario Court of Justice (Family division) and in 1993 appointed to the Superior Court of Justice. His appointment as Deputy Judge of the Supreme Court of the Yukon Territory, the Territorial Court of Yukon and the Supreme Court Northwest Territories was an honour that he cherished.

We wish to thank The Nephrology Doctors MacFarlane, Wald, and Perle for their professionalism and care with a special thank you to Mary Beth Adams. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church – 24 Cheritan Avenue, Toronto. A private cremation will take place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Rosar-Morrision Funeral Home (416-924-1408). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation or Covenant House.
