TRAVALE,Ann Marie (Smith)

Ann Marie TRAVALE,
TRAVALE, Ann Marie (Smith) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Marie Travale on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice. Ann was born on October 19, 1944, beloved daughter of John and Edith Smith (Constable). She was cherished and admired by many cousins. Dear friends Craig and Crystal Lightfoot loved Ann very much. Ann spread sunshine wherever she went and had many friends, both near and far. Ann was extremely proud of her English / Irish heritage and was the keeper of family stories both from the United Kingdom and from the time of her family’s settlement in Ontario. Her innate attention to detail served her well as a long term employee of the Royal Insurance Company. She possessed great skill as a seamstress and especially had a heart for sewing children’s clothing. That love of children extended itself to being a fervent supporter of the Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox Program and to support an orphan in Africa through World Vision. Ann took great joy in baking, reading, gardening and watching historical dramas from Britain. She liked to travel, but Ann’s primary focus was time spent with family and friends, all of whom admired her kind heart, grace, humour, integrity and gentle spirit. Ann’s Christian faith was an integral part of her life and so we stand encouraged in our grief, until we meet again. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephan on the Mount Anglican Church (625 Concession St., Hamilton, ON) with Rev. Scott McNaughton officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot in Chapel Hill Cemetery. If friends so wish, donations in Ann’s memory may be made to Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice (277 Stone Church Rd. East, Hamilton, ON L9B 1B1). or www.kemphospice.org/donate.
