It is with great sadness that the family announce that Vickie passed away, on Friday, March 10, 2017, in her 95th year. Beloved wife for 60 years of Paul (predeceased in 2005). Proud mother of Frank (Jill), Angela (Rick), Michael (Cyndy) and Vickie (Brian). She will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her grandchildren: Lisa (Daniel), Julie (Sanj), Kristie (Jeff), Jason (Katelyn), Terryn (Jared), Brett (Meaghan), Alex, Caitlin, Shanna and Keagan. She will be lovingly remembered by her ten great-grandchildren: Isabella, Mckenna, Dylan, Braden, Jacob, Connor, Kingston, Parker, Makena and Mason. She will be remembered by her brother-in-law Nick Volpe (Donna), sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews of both the Volpe and Sarris families. Special thanks to caregivers and friends: Bev Khan and Pauline Taylor. Vickie and Paul moved to Port Credit in 1947. Vickie was an incredible woman who was very active within the community. She was the fundraising chairperson of (MICBA), founding member of the following organizations: CWL at St. Mary’s Church, St. Francis Guild and the South Peel Hospital Auxiliary. She was President of CWL, as well as of Rotary Anns, Vice President of the Lorne Park Cancer Society , Volunteer Coordinator at both Credit Valley and Mississauga Hospitals, as well as with the Church Community Volunteers. She did exceptional work as the Director of Mississauga South Federal Association and was appointed as Returning Officer in Mississauga South. From her early days in Port Credit, Wenleigh Crt., Mississaugua Golf and Country Club, Naples, Florida and more recently at The Palace Condominium, she enjoyed the company of so many close friends. Her hobbies included gardening, knitting, playing bridge and spending time with family. Friends and Family may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St. (Hwy. 10, N. of the QEW), from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 11 o’clock. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. Donations in memory of Vickie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society .
