William James WALSH
WALSH, William James MD FRCPC FACP DS (honoris causa) 1924 – 2017 After a long life, well lived, Bill died peacefully surrounded by family on January 7, 2017. Dearest father of Allyn (Wes Oczkowski), James, and Robert (Carol Baum). Loving grandfather of Simon (Kim), Colin (Natalie), Aidan (Greg), Hannah, and Naomi, and great grandfather of Vivian. Predeceased by his dear wife Peggy, sisters Adrienne and Shirley, and survived by sisters Connie and June. Physician, teacher and mentor to so many, Bill had an illustrious medical career. One of the Five Founding Fathers of McMaster’s Medical School, he also served as President of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and the Hamilton Academy of Medicine, amongst many other leadership positions. Bill was formerly Wing Commander, RCAF, auxiliary medical officer. Friends may call at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME “Swackhamer Chapel”, 195 King Street West, Dundas on Friday, January 13th from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 14th at 2:30pm.
