WALTER GEORGE SLOAN 1925 – 2016 Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Veterans’ Hospital on July 18, 2016 in his 92nd year. Survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Hazell, of 68 years and sister, Myrtle of Lachine, Quebec. Loving and proud father to Deborah (Harold) and John (Lise). Cherished grandfather of Matthew (Rebecca) and Ashley, who both were the light of his life. Also survived by step-grandchildren James (Ivanka) and Danielle (Vincent) and many nieces and nephews. Walter and Hazell spent the first 50 years of their lives in Lachine, Quebec and then moved to Toronto where they succeeded in growing their company, WG Sloan Industrial Supplies, built lasting relationships at Lambton Golf and Country Club and enjoyed the long winter months with both their Canadian and American friends at River Wilderness Golf and Country Club in Florida. Family and friends may call at the Turner & Porter Funeral Home, 2357 Bloor St. W., Toronto, Ontario on Wednesday evening, July 20th, between 6 and 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Turner & Porter on Thursday, July 21st, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or charity of your choice and online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca
