CULLEY, Wendell Franklin —

May 24, 1942 – February 3, 2017

Passed away peacefully to be with Our Lord and Saviour, while surrounded by his family at Toronto General Hospital, on Friday, February 3, 2017, at 6:32 a.m., after a yearlong struggle with mesothelioma (lung cancer caused by asbestos exposure in the workplace). Beloved husband and best friend of Sandra (Cochrane); loving father of Scott (Suzanne) and Larissa. Special Papa to Aidan and Kieran Pothier and Chloe Fisher. Loving brother of Gwen (Michael), Brian (Barbara) and Jeremy (deceased). Predeceased by his mother Iva (2008) and father Frank (1965). Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Wendell worked for Comstock Canada as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W. 353) for 43 years before retiring in 2004. Visitation at Brampton Funeral Home and Cemetery, 10061 Chinguacousy Rd., at Bovaird Dr. W., Brampton, Ontario L7A 0H6, on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 1-2 p.m., to be followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Wendell to MSC Canada, 101 Amber St., Unit 16, Markham, Ontario L3R 3B2, for the “Relief & Development Fund” or the “Syrian Relief Fund” for refugee camps.
