BARNES, William Leonard After fighting a long battle with illness William Leonard Barnes (aka Bill, Hagar, Pointer, Bushy) passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Saturday, October 7, 2017. Bill left us to join his parents Annie and Len Barnes, of Penetanguishene. His family meant the world to him. He will be sorely miss by his wife Lorna Desmarais, “Daddy’s little girl” Samantha, and his son Len (Natalie) and grandson William. Bill was very sad that he would not get to see his grandson grow up. Bill was an avid fisherman, and took many fishing trips and spent a great deal of time on the water. Having grown up in Burlington, Bill was a Tiger Cats fan, and a Montreal Canadiens fan. He spoke often about the guys from Dofasco, where he spent 40 years, and all the good old days and stories. Bill loved his huskies, having had three, Shauman, Shadow and now Mick who was rescued from the SPCA. A donation to the SPCA in Bill’s honour would be his organization of choice, if any so wish to do. In November, a Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held.
