Bill passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Beloved husband of Sally (Thorpe) for 56 years. Dearest father of Burke (Elisabeth Samson), Kimberley Flatley (Charles), Stephanie (Paul Cook) and Andrea Fry (David). Devoted and much loved grandfather of William and Alexandra Smyth, Bridget and Sarah Flatley, Honor and Reed McPherson, Spencer and Harrison Cook and Haley, Kathryn and Charles Fry. Dear brother of Helen Travers-Griffin (Rodney), uncle of Colette Bell (Danny) and great-uncle of Daniel Bell. Dear brother-in-law of Barbara Thorpe. Bill was a graduate of St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto, an officer in The Irish Regiment of Canada and a longtime member of The Royal Canadian Military Institute. He enjoyed a long and successful career as a sales and marketing executive with Kendall Canada. The family will receive friends at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2nd. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 3rd, at 11:00 a.m. in BLESSED SACRAMENT CHURCH, 24 Cheritan Avenue (at Yonge Street), Toronto.
