Yvonne Mary “Mickey” McCARTHY

She started each morning reading the Toronto Star Obituaries… Mom, this one’s for you! Mickey passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband Ken. Loving mother of Stephen (Jennifer), Daniel (Anne-Marie), Patricia (David), Laura Ann and Michael. Proud Grandma of Jaimie (Dan) and Shawn; Great-Grandma of Tyler, Addison and Brooklynn. Sister of Jean Zulak. Predeceased by her brothers Ian and Gord. Born in Long Branch, a longtime resident of Alderwood and worked at Goodyear. She loved baking, bowling, euchre and knitting. She will be remembered for her butter tarts and date squares. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (at 14th St., between Islington and Kipling Aves., 416-259-3705), on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church (782 Brown’s Line), on Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.
