ANDERSON, Vera (nee Worthington) June 23, 1925 – March 8, 2019 Vera passed away peacefully, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Predeceased in death by her husband Ted (1995), sisters-in-law Flo and Eva in England, “Canadian Family” William and Rachel Matchett and BFF June Yorkston. Left to mourn are daughter Kathryn Berg (Randy), grandson Matthew (Mara), embraced as a daughter, Dianne Machett, and in England brothers Albert, Graham and Ramon (Margaret), niece Sandra and nephews Gary and Andrew and their extended families.
Vera led an active and engaged life and will be remembered by friends in the communities of the Girl Guides of Canada, her church, and her apartment building where she had resided for more than 50 years. Vera was a loyal supporter of a diverse list of charities and the family would appreciate donations in her name to the charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers.
Following Vera’s wishes, cremation will take place. Interment of her ashes will follow at a later date, joining those of Ted, in the Worthington family plot in Newcastle-Under-Lyme Staffordshire, England. Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16th at The Southgate Presbyterian Church, 120 Clarendon Ave., Hamilton, Ontario. Visitation from 12:30 p.m. until time of service and refreshments following.
