BIANCUCCI, Lina

BIANCUCCI, Lina (October 10, 1929 – January 11, 2019) Peacefully in her 90th year, surrounded by her family, Lina Biancucci (nee Cimadamore) was taken to heaven in the arms of angels on Friday, January 11, 2019.

Eternally reunited with her first love, Blandino (deceased 1968). Loving mother of John (Isabella), Frank (Majda) and Dan (Monique) and adored Nonna of Lisa (Trevor), Christina (Chris), Lauren (Chris), Madison (Jordan), Justin (Maria), Vanessa (Jonathan) and predeceased by her infant grandson, Francis Jr. Bisnonna to William, Beatrice and Georgia. Predeceased by her second husband, Ralph Martinello (deceased 2016), father of Roseanne (Alan) and Ralph Jr. (Felicia). Loving grandmother to Michael, Matthew, Martin, Andrea and Roseanne. Predeceased by her parents Rocco and Rosa Cimadamore. Dearest sister of Adina Mandozzi (the late Giuseppe), Gina Martelli (Leonardo), Alberto Cimadamore (Laura) and sister-in-law Maria (the late Luigi Biancucci). Will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, both in Canada and Italy.

Immigrating from Sant’Elpidio a Mare, Marche, Italy, to Hamilton, Ontario in 1952 with Blandino and their infant son John, life in Canada presented many challenges, none greater than becoming a widow at 39 years old with three young sons. Lina’s greatest joy in life was taking care of her family, being both mother and father to her three boys raising them in a loving and nurturing manner always guided by her faith. Her talents in baking, cooking, knitting, gardening, canning and sauce making were lovingly passed down to her children and grandchildren.

Lina was a dedicated employee of McMaster University for 17 years. In her later years, Lina was challenged by the onset of Dementia, however, through the exceptional care of the dedicated staff at Idlewyld Manor, she lived her last two years with dignity.
