Di Veto, Marie (nee Tonkin) December 9, 1934 – October 20, 2018 Marie Di Veto, in her 84th year and suffering from pancreatic cancer, chose to die at home with her family by her side on October 20, 2018.
Survived by her loving husband Norm Di Veto and her children Lisa (Joe, deceased), Mitch (Laila), Andria (Dave), Daina (Joe), and Tony (Brenda). Leaving behind her much-loved grandchildren Bridgett, Charlotte, Clayton, Navona, Siena, Melina, Cobee, and Ava. Predeceased by her brothers Charles “Chuck” and Anthony “Joe” Tonkin.
Many thanks to the visiting palliative care team from Stedman’s Hospice, the doctors and visiting nurses who took care of her, and the doctors who assisted in her death. The family was grateful for MAID, the Medical Assistance in Dying law which allowed Marie to choose the time and place of her death.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and close friends will be notified of plans for a Celebration of Marie’s Life.
