Passed away peacefully on July 5, 2018, at the age of 85.
Dorothy was mother to Paul William Peter Babiak, Deborah Patricia Babiak, Julia Elizabeth Babiak, Peter Joseph Babiak and mother-in-law to Thomas Edward Smith. Dorothy was Grandmother to Casey B. Smith and Perry B. Smith. Dorothy was wife to Joseph Babiak for 42 years. Dorothy was predeceased by sisters Marg Anderson (nee Southwick), Lorraine Dale Southwick and brother William (Donnie) Southwick. Much appreciation and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Birmingham and staff at Ina Grafton Gage Home.
Dorothy was well loved and very well cared for by all of her caregivers. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer Society of Toronto, Covenant House Toronto and Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Dorothy had a heart full of kindness. She was forever giving of herself, whether it was volunteering for the Canadian Cancer Society
for 25 years, teaching Sunday School for over 30 years at Knox United Church in Agincourt, volunteering at the Gift Shop at Scarborough Grace Hospital for over a decade or serving food to those in need at Out of the Cold.
Dorothy was tireless in her efforts to make the world a better place. Dorothy’s generous heart and soul will be greatly missed on this earth.
A memorial will take place on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Knox United Church, 2569 Midland Ave. at 1:00 p.m. Reception in the church hall to follow
