EVANS, Edward Austin (Ted) 1935 – 2018 Peacefully on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Mackenzie Health Centre after a lengthy illness. Ted was the devoted son of the late Patricia and Arthur, loving brother of David (Ellie), Joyce Medweiash (Ken) and Mary Ann Turnbull (Chris). He was cherished by his nieces and nephews Carolyn Nichols (Aaron), Darren Hall, Dave and Jennifer Turnbull and great-nephews and nieces, Austin (Aussie), Sadie, Ethan, Theo and Wyatt.
In addition to his career in finance, Ted loved to travel and was an avid outdoorsman enjoying sailing, skiing, fishing, hunting, gardening and golf. Family cottage life on Lake Simcoe and later on Stoney Lake with his brother David gave him years of happy outdoor pursuits and much laughter. He was a long standing member of the Granite Club since a young boy, and enthusiastically played badminton and squash, and later joined his father as an avid curler.
On Saturday, January 27th at 1:00 p.m., a service will take place at Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Avenue West (east of Oriole Parkway). There is additional parking across the street from the funeral home in the underground lot of the North Toronto Community Centre. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
