MOFFATT, Elsie Sarah (nee COLES) October 16, 1929 – January 9, 2021 The family of Elsie Sarah Moffatt (née Coles) sadly announce her passing on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 91 years of age in Springwater, Ontario, at home with her devoted husband and best friend of 71 years, Ron. Cherished mother of Rhonda Moffatt and Rick Fisher of Ajax, Bryan and Ollie Moffatt of Barrie, Brenda Moffatt of Orillia and Doug Moffatt and Cathy Logue of Toronto.
Adored grandmother of Ryan Robillard (Elyssa), Tiffany Killam (Dave), Steve Moffatt, Gregory Moffatt (Ashley), Mark Moffatt (Sarah), John, Lizzie and Tom Moffatt. Elsie loved babies and was blessed with eight beautiful great-grandchildren, Ethan and Kayla, Ben and Leah, Reese and Spencer, Madison and Tessa. Elsie survived her sister and brothers and was a favourite aunt to many nieces and nephews. A loving and devoted wife, the best mother and grandmother anyone could ever ask for, Elsie was always there for her family in good times and in bad, and an excellent teacher by example. Elsie was a wonderful hostess and cook and loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her family and friends. She will be remembered for orchestrating the best Christmases ever, cultivating a very close-knit family with her weekly Sunday dinners, and being the best friend and confidante anyone could ask for.
Elsie was well loved by all. A very generous volunteer over the years, collecting donations for numerous charities, donating her time in the kitchen at Burton Avenue United Church, delivering for Meals on Wheels and as a volunteer at Royal Victoria Hospital. In her younger days, an avid bowler and Toastmistress, and later a very active participant in bridge at the Seniors Centre and poker with the girls. There will be a small family service and interment and hopefully a Celebration of Life when the future allows.
