STANLEY, Florence Joyce Edna (nee OVERALL) Peacefully, in her 96th year, on Wednesday October 10, 2018 at Union Villa Long Term Care in Unionville Ontario.
Florence Joyce Edna (Overall) Stanley, formerly of Niagara Falls, London and Minden, Ontario. Predeceased by her beloved husband Clare (1997) and 12 siblings including her dear twin Ellen Ness (2016).
Florence graduated from Toronto General Hospital School of Nursing in 1946 and joined Trans-Canada Airlines as a flight attendant. After her marriage, she returned to nursing. In 1964, she earned her teaching certificate from London Teachers College and began a new career working in the area of special education. She ended her working life as a nurse in long term care in London.
Florence is lovingly remembered by her children, Joanne (Bob Millett), Kathryn (Ron Farmer) and Jim (Gina), her grandchildren Daniel Millett (Jessica), Andrew Millett (Jessica), Claire Farmer (Jason Callow), Beth Farmer and Leah Farmer and her great-granddaughters Madison Millett, Emma Millett, Maeve Callow and a great-grandson arriving early in the new year. Florence is fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law Anne Whalen (Don) and Vicki Stanley (late Jim) and her brother-in-law Clifford Stanley (Louise) and their families.
The family wishes to thank all of the staff members at Union Villa for their kindness and tender care given to our mother, especially during her final days.
Cremation has taken place. Interment in St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye, Ontario will take place at a later date.
