JOHST, HARRY October 28, 1928 – July 15, 2018 Harry died peacefully overnight at his residence after many years of hardship from multiple illnesses at the age of 89. He will be forever lovingly remembered by his wife Aini, daughter Kerstin, son Brian and daughter-in-law Brenda.
He was a proud and devoted grandpa to Paige and Conor. Harry was born in Hamburg-Altona, Germany, then later as a chef he travelled to Sweden where he married and started his family, then finally settled in Toronto, Canada on December 4, 1956. Retired in 1987 from Toronto Grace Hospital after 17 years without ever missing a day’s work.
Harry was an avid classical music and movie lover and along with studying the Bible, Harry supported, for over 30 years, the Canadian Bible Society. Visitation is on Thursday, July 19th from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. at York Cemetery & Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto, M2N 5Z5 (416-221-3404).
