Helen O’NEILL

Helen O’NEILL

O’NEILL, Helen (nee MOSKEWITCZ) It is with mixture of sadness and thankfulness that the family of Helen O’Neill announces her passing, on Wednesday, December 30, at the age of 83, after contracting COVID-19. Helen was the devoted wife of Jim O’Neill, and the proud mom of Craig (Laura) and Gary (Lynn). She was a loving grandma to Katie (Calvin), Jeff, Sophie, Isaac, Abby and Zoe, and great-grandma to Noah and Charlie.

She was predeceased by her husband Jim and sister Ginny, both of whom she missed dearly. Helen will always be remembered for her strong Christian faith. Up to her last days she took great comfort in her Lord and Saviour Jesus. Even with Alzheimer’s disease stealing many of her memories she was still able to recite scriptures and songs that shaped her life. Mom, Grandma, Helen, Mrs. O, had an impact on many lives. So many people have stories of her encouraging words, the help she provided and the difference her care made for them. She was a shining example of how to how to ‘Love your Neighbour’. She will be missed greatly.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Walden Circle Retirement Residence for their care of her over the last few years. An online service to celebrate Helen’s life and give glory to God will be held on Saturday January 9 at 2:00 p.m. The link to the service can be found at https://clarksonchurch.ca/celebrating-helen-oneill/ Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or Kerr Street Mission in memory of Helen would be appreciated by the family.
