Henry Harry James Dawson Gibson

Harry (Henry) J.D. Gibson (M.A.,University of Edinburgh). August 23, 1940 – January 9, 2019. Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, beloved father and grandfather Harry Gibson of Toronto (born in Aberdeen, Scotland) passed away at Toronto General Hospital on January 9th, 2019.

Survived by his children Roisin Gibson, Harry Gibson, Siobhan Gibson and his grandson Sean van Schalkwyk; nephew Ronald Reid, nieces Stephanie Pride and Caroline Gibson as well as great niece Jess Reid and great nephew Keelan Reid. Predeceased by his wife Kay (Kathleen) Gibson (nee Mc Dermott), his siblings Greta Reid, Una Pride, and George Gibson, nephew Stephen Pride and his parents Temple Gibson and Mary (Helen) Gibson. Fondly remembered by Kay’s family, the Frawleys and Mc Dermotts.

A dedicated teacher who worked with Senior Citizens in his later career, Mr. Gibson touched many lives and will be dearly missed.

The family would like to thank all of those who cared compassionately for Mr. Gibson at the end of his life.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church (71 Gough Ave.)on Saturday, January 19th at 11am followed by a Celebration of Life at Trull Funeral Home, 1111 Danforth Ave. Toronto (just west of Greenwood Ave.) from 1-3 p.m.
