JOAN FLETT

FLETT, JOAN (nee CULBERT) Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on May 25, 2018 at 78 years of age.

Cherished wife of Jim for 57 years. Predeceased by her parents Olive and Bill Culbert. Loving mother of Jim and wife Christine of Midland, Ontario and Sheila and husband Stewart Slaney of Oshawa, Ontario. Treasured Grandma of Rawlin and Nanny of Spencer. Dear sister-in-law of Willa and Brant Coleman of Alliston, Ontario and Susanne and John Flett of Toronto, Ontario. Joan attended Kennedy Collegiate in Windsor, Alma College in St. Thomas, Ontario and the Art School in Detroit.

Joan prided herself on being a stay at home mom and wife. During this time, she was actively involved in volunteer work in Richmond Hill. Her volunteer work included coordinating Meals on Wheels, treasurer of the Richmond Hill Winter Carnival and many church activities at St. Mary’s Anglican Church. Later in life, Joan worked at the Bombay Company as a head buyer for Canada and also worked part-time at the Uncommon Market at the Art Gallery of Windsor.

Joan had a special place in her heart for Hilton Head, South Carolina and spent many vacations there with family.

A special thank you to Hospice of Windsor, Dr. Bergeron, nurses Aliye, Gina and Willi for their care and compassion. Memorial donations can be made to The Salvation Army of Windsor or to the Windsor and Essex County Humane Society.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial visiting will be on Saturday, June 9th from 11:00 a.m. until time of a Celebration of Life Memorial at 1:00 p.m. at Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841
