KLASSEN, Ronald “Ron”

KLASSEN, Ronald “Ron” Ron passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.

He will be sorely missed by his wife Wendy of 53 years, his children Jennifer (Peter), Greg (Ana), and grandchildren Jordan and James. Ron was predeceased by his sister Verla Borkovich (Stan) and brother Dale (Ruth). He was brother-in-law to Don Gilchrist (Joyce), Judy Robertson, and uncle to many cherished nieces and nephews. He admired his bountiful cousins. Ron was a good friend, often lifelong, to so many.

He was a member of the IPA, Macassa Bay Yacht Club, Blue Knights, Elks, Stoney Creek Legion, Moose Lodge, P.R.O., P.P.A.O., RC Flying Clubs, a 30 year veteran of Hamilton Police Services and a former broker with Laidlaw. Ron was the one you wanted standing at your back, clearing the path ahead, and holding you at his side with his giant hands. His interests and skills were astounding and never stopped growing. The stories of his past never cease to entertain. Please keep sharing the stories.

Heartfelt thanks to the generosity of friends and the compassionate care from the excellent staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Hamilton Health Sciences.
