Lorraine Griffiths

Lorraine Griffiths passed away on December 23rd, 2018, at the age of 89. She rejoins her husband Paul, and her sons, Michael and Peter.

Lorraine will be deeply missed by her son, Ross (Elizabeth); daughter, Caroline (Rob, predeceased). Grandchildren William (Rachel), Ann (Jeff), Jason, Holly (Johnny), Lauren (Tyler), Jena (Tyler), Mark (Lindsay), and Sarah. Great-grandchildren, Lydia, Evelyn, Bethany,Faith, Jayelene, Shyloh, Scarlett and Emelia. She will also be missed by many more family members and friends.

Lorraine was born September 2, 1929, barely two months before the start of the great depression. Although her given first name was Annis, she was known to all as Lorraine. She spent her youth living in the Woodbine and Gerrard area of east Toronto. She married her life long love, Paul Griffiths in 1951 and eventually moved to central Scarborough where she lived in her cherished house for the remainder of her life. In her senior years, Lorraine was active with her church; attended senior events at Birkdale Community Centre; and was a member of the local Red Hat Society.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at SHN – General Hospital and, the Toronto Fire and Paramedic teams who professionally and compassionately assisted ‘mom’ when she needed it. Lorraine will be laid to rest at Pine Hills Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be held for Lorraine at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church, 72 Main Street, Toronto, Ontario.
