MacNEIL, Dian (nee Metcalfe) Peacefully entered into rest at her home in Selkirk on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in her 85th year.
Beloved wife of Malcolm for 46 years. Loving mother to Andrew (Joanne) and Iain (Lindsay). Dear grandmother of Ava, Cara and Nieve. Sister to Gerry Smith (Roy) and Ruth Carr. Predeceased by her siblings Jack, Jim, Joan Nicholson. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Dian was a tireless organizer that worked selflessly to support the people around her. Dian was a real friend to large circle of people drawn from many ages and many walks of life that looked to her for level-headed council from a patient, faith-filled and generous woman. Dian was a faithful member of the St. Stephen’s CWL as well as a long time volunteer with the West Haldimand Hospital Auxiliary.
Visitation will take place in the Miller Funeral Chapel , Cayuga, on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 2 – 4 p.m. with a prayer vigil beginning held at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church, Cayuga on Monday, October 29th at 11 a.m. Interment in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.
