DONAGHEY, Margaret Mary (nee FERRIE) November 21, 1932 – December 8, 2020 Passed away peacefully at home in Wasaga Beach, on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, surrounded by family. Margaret was born and grew up in Dumbarton, Scotland, immigrated to Canada in 1965, and raised her family in and around the Toronto area for 55 years. Margaret had a long, rewarding career as a teacher and guidance counsellor with the Separate School Board, primarily at Notre Dame High School in Toronto. She retired to Wasaga Beach in 1995 and continued her selfless giving as a wonderful grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Margaret was a valued member of St. Noel Chabanel Catholic Church in Wasaga Beach and volunteered with the St. Vincent DePaul Society, strengthened by her unwavering Catholic faith. She loved well, and was well loved. She will be dearly missed by all. We take comfort in knowing she is at peace in her final resting place with God. Predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years David Gerard “Gerry” Donaghey (November 13, 2019) and survived by her children David, Paul, Joan, Rosemary (Lefebvre), and Marie Therese (Jones), her grandchildren Jordan, Alana, Pax, Michael, Alicia, Matthew, Margarita, Katie, Sarah, Maria, Siobhan, Mitchell and Alexandra, and her 4 great-grandchildren Ellie, Lennon, Finn and Acadia.
Friends are invited to join the family Monday, December 21, 2020, at St. Noel Chabanel Catholic Church. 133 Dunkerron Avenue, Wasaga Beach for the Memorial Mass at 1 o’clock.
