PATTERSON, IVANÂ It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ivan Patterson on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the Juravinski Hospital. He was in his 92nd year.
Beloved husband of the late Bernice (Lewis) Patterson for 56 years. Loved father of Jeffrey (Tammy), Lindsay and Joel. Predeceased by daughter MaryCatherine. Loved grandfather of Alex (Marie-Pier), Tessa, Tyler and Jeffrey. Ivan will be missed by his niece Marieann Anderson (Frank), brothers-in-law Nilo Giavedoni, Ron Holt and sister-in-law Jean Lewis. As well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Ivan was born in Sunny Bank, Gaspe, Quebec, to Peter and Alice Patterson. He spent his childhood there with brothers Ward and Lionel before moving to Montreal. Then finally making Ancaster his home where he spent many happy years with his family. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War (PPCLI 2nd BN SF) and a member of the Korean Veterans Association. Ivan was a dedicated employee of White Rose/Shell Canada for 38 years.
The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Villa LTC and at the Juravinski Hospital for their wonderful care.
The family will receive at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home ANCASTER CHAPEL 378 Wilson St. E. on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with the Funeral Service to be held at RYERSON UNITED CHURCH 265 Wilson St. E (near Halson St.) on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
