PLESTER, Frederick Allison

PLESTER, Frederick AllisonĀ It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Fred (Ferd) Plester with his girls by his side, in the city he loved on April 9th.

Dedicated husband of 38 years to Carmie, the love of his life. The proud father of his first-born daughter Allison Whiteman (James) and to Danielle Plester (Vince Tompa) whom he planned to walk down the aisle with this summer. Fred found his calling as Grampie to Freddie Zephyr Tompa. The two shared a bond like no other. A family man through and through, he was a devoted son to Grace Carlton. Loving brother to Alana, Deidre (Joe), Bruce (Patty), Brenda (Mo), John, Jeff (Nina) and Nancy. A favourite uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Fred is now reunited with his beloved siblings Dianne, Jimmy and nephew Robbie. He will be greatly missed by his in- laws Graham (Dianne), Charlene (Aubrey), Pat (Helen), Frank (Patricia), Barb and Colleen. To say Fred was loved would be an understatement. With a smile and a joke in his signature voice, he instantly warmed your heart. A hard worker by nature, he was a proud millwright.

Fred quite literally wore his heart on his sleeve (note the Bruins tattoo). He could talk sports and music for hours. He lived life to the fullest and had the stories to prove it. His friendships were unparallel and built to last a lifetime. He was truly one of a kind.

Thank you to VON for their great work and compassion, the staff at Juravinski and to everyone who has shown kindness to our family during this difficult time.

He ask not that you grieve his death, but that you celebrate all the life he lived and play a Tom Petty tune in his honour.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held April 20th from 1-5 p.m. at Ye Olde Squire, 550 Fennel Ave East. Online condolences can be made at www.cresmountfennellchapel.com
