REMESAT, Salome “Saule” Passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga on January 10, 2019 in her 85th year.
Predeceased by her parents Kostas and Viktorija Lukosevicius. Beloved wife to John for 52 years. Loving mother to Darius (Ramona), and Victor (Aldona). Proud grandma to Rachel, Devin, Simas, and Gaiva. She will be missed by her family and friends in Canada and Lithuania.
Saule was born in Lithuania and following the war, emigrated to England, and then Canada. Settling in Hamilton in 1952 to raise her family, she became a very active member at Our Lady of Mercy Lithuanian Parish and was a member of the Choir for over 60 years. She volunteered with the Victorian Order of Nurses and was involved with the Lithuanian Children’s Relief.
Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 615 Main Street East, Hamilton on Wednesday, January 16th from 2-4 and 5-8 with prayers at 7 p.m.. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Lithuanian Parish, 58 Dundurn Street North, Hamilton on Thursday, January 17th at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at St. John’s Lithuanian Cemetery, Mississauga.
