CHAFEE, Robert Edward Lived his life fully to the very last day. However, it is with profound sadness that Bob passed away peacefully at Toronto General Hospital on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the age of 82 surrounded by the love of his family.
Beloved husband of Beatrice. Much loved father of Nancy, Ron (Eileen), and Rob (Tina). Loving Papa of Amanda, Alyssa, Bryan, Douglas and Olivia. Dear brother of Donna (Gerry) and the late Doug (Susan). His entire family and large circle of friends from around the world will dearly remember Bob. Born in London, ON.
Bob grew up in nearby Embro, ON helping his family at the Chafee General Store but had his share of mischief and hard work on his uncles’s farm in Listowel, ON. He joyfully spent over 60 years building friendships, partnerships, and businesses touching the lives of so many. Bob was proud to say that he failed at retirement but did not sacrifice his family, friends and fun along the way.
His smile was infectious, his energy inspiring and nothing made him happier than seeing others succeed. Bob was always the optimist and full of joy and curiosity.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W. (at Windermere, east of the Jane subway) on Monday from 1:00 – 4:00 and 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service to be held at Kingsway Lambton United Church, 85 The Kingsway, on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at St. George’s Golf Club, 1668 Islington Avenue.
