Peacefully with family by his side, Salvatore passed at the Chartwell Brant Centre Long Term Care on March 3, 2021 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of 60 years to Elisabetta. Loving father to Rosa Macaluso (late Salvatore), Carmelo (Christine Deschatelets), Maria Caverson (Brian) and Linda (John Pryke).
Cherished Nonno to Sarah (Louis), Salvatore (Kaitlin), Alexia, Tiana, Kyle, Mya, Brandon and Lucas. Predeceased by his parents Carmelo and Rosa Castiglione and by his in-laws Calogero and Maria Licata. Dear brother to Calogera Cimino (late Diego) and Giuseppina Ippolito (late Giovanni). Dear brother-in-law to the late Angelo Licata (late Rose), the late Teresa Tascarella (late Melchiorre), the late Calogero (Maria) and the late Emilio (Maria).
Salvatore will also be missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends, in Canada, the U.S. and Italy. The family thanks all the staff at the Brant Centre and to Dr. Constantine Karnis and Dr. Michael Foster for their care and compassion. If desired, a donation to the Alzheimer Society or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be kindly appreciated. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E., on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary’s Church on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. A private entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance is limited and all guests must RSVP for both the visitation and Funeral Mass. Please practice physical distancing measures and wear a face covering.
