SERRAVALLE, Raffaele It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Raffaele on Friday, April 12, 2019 at the age of 92.
Born on February 19, 1927 in Mangone, Cosenza, Italy. Loving husband of the late Giovannina (2017). Devoted father of Rose and son-in-law Mario, who always made him laugh with his funny stories. Adored papà to Angela. Cherished nonno of Alexandra, the love of his life. Son of the late Vincenzo and Rosina and son-in-law of the late Raffaele and Adelina Pizzo. Dear brother to Elena Bruno (late Gaetano), Maria Miceli (late Antonio), Lidia and Frank Basolini, the late Mario and brother-in-law to Rosina and the late Antonio Pizzo. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He proudly identified with his Italian roots and loved to reminisce about his life as a Carabinieri. His gentle nature and infectious laughter spread joy to everyone he met and his love for music never faded through the years. Most importantly, family was everything to him.
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to dad’s PSWs, Juravinski hospital staff, the VON, the staff at LHIN and the very special staff at Dr. Steven Zizzo’s office.
Resting at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E. on Tuesday April 16, from 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Vigil prayers on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Church on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
