SPERANZINI, Ugo “Spink” Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the age of 94, Beloved husband of the late Sanda “Sally” (nee Zukwski). Loving father and father-in-law of Kathy and Geoffrey Hassell, Bob and Irene Speranzini, Joe Speranzini and Irene Payk, and Mike and Lynn Speranzini. Cherished grandfather of Kristina, Reina (husband Steve Ditta), Nikki, John, Sasha, Alana (husband Travis Moir), Nick, Stephen and Matthew. Loving great-grandfather of Carmen Grace Ditta and Wesley James Moir.

Spink and Sally started their family and worked together in their business, the Rose Villa Inn. Spink was recruited in 1959 by Father Burns to teach at Notre Dame College School in Welland. Spink thrived as head of Science Department with his love of education and the students. Among many other things, Spink was the chair of the fundraising committee to build the new Welland General Hospital in the early 1960’s.

Spink and Sally together donated generously to the Welland Hospital Foundation and in their retirement volunteered many hours of their time feeding the elderly and sick at the Extended Care Unit which became their own home.

Friends are invited to visit at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home , 241 West Main Street, Welland on Thursday, March 21 from 4 to 7 p.m., starting with Vigil Prayers at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Parish Community of St. Kevin, 303 Niagara Street, Welland on Friday, March 22nd at 10 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Sisters of the Sacred Heart, Welland or The Parish Community of St. Kevin would be appreciated by the family.
