WAZNY, Rachel (nee Shaver) Entered into rest on January 11, 2019 at Wentworth Heights Nursing Home in Hamilton in her 93rd year.
Rachel had a lifelong interest in geneology and attended Shaver family reunions near the Philip Shaver Heritage House in Ancaster each year with her family.
Predeceased by her husband John Wazny, her daughter Gloria Spence, her grandson John, her parents Cecil and Christine Shaver, brothers Hilliard and Vincent and sisters Velma, Peggy (McFetridge) and Rene (Ladell). Loving mother to Linda (Bob Gimblett), Diane (Philip) Rae and Robert (LA); grandmother to Adam (Zuzana) Muzzin, Bart (Anna) Muzzin, Stuart, Ian (Roxanne) and Mark Spence, Naomi (Brad) Osborne and great-grandmother to Chyanne, Laine, Erik, Scarlet and Hazel. Will be missed by nieces Norma (Joe) Wasilik, Margaret Dawson and Diane (Grant) Berge, nephews David McFetridge, Glen and Larry Ladell; and Rosann, Gloria and Tom Gambino; and Paul Spence.
Immediate family will gather on Wednesday, January 16th at 3 p.m. at Cresmount Funeral Home. On Saturday, May 25, 2019, friends and extended family are invited to gather first at 10 a.m. at Mount Hamilton Cemetery, 260 Rymal Road E. Hamilton, for interment, to be followed by a Celebration of Life at the Cresmount Funeral Home at 322 Fennell Ave E. in Hamilton.
