William Henry Paul COOPER

William Henry Paul COOPER

COOPER, William Henry Paul Died on Monday, January 22, 2018 in his 75th year at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Predeceased by his parents Frederick Sidney Cooper and Janet Robertson Cooper. He is survived by his brother Frederick J. Cooper (Barbara Ferrell). He will be sadly missed by many generations of his extended family, who played an important role in his life. As a Teacher in the York County and Toronto School Boards for over thirty years, Paul shared his many talents with thousands of students, some of whom became lifelong friends.

Paul loved “playing” with boats and over the years his collection included a hand-built Newfoundland dory, sea fleas, a 39-foot sailboat and numerous motorboats. In his younger years he was an avid sailor. As a classic car enthusiast, his pride and joy was his 1971 Triumph Stag. Paul loved to travel and everywhere he went he struck up conversations with strangers and made new friends. A caring and devoted son, brother and friend, he was generous to a fault. Following a recent health crisis, Paul was looking forward to his “second chance at life,” but that was not to be. We will all miss his spontaneous sense of humour, spunky spirit and determination. We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the paramedics, doctors and nurses at the PRHC for their dedication and exceptional care.

Visiting will be held at the ASHBURNHAM FUNERAL HOME, 840 Armour Road, Peterborough, on Saturday, January 27th from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow. Donations to Diabetes Canada or the Salvation Army would be appreciated and may be made at www.AshburnhamFuneral.ca
