TAYLOR, Edith Irene (nee Patrick) After a lengthy struggle with dementia, Edith passed away quietly in her 98th year on July 12, 2017 at Wentworth Lodge, Dundas, Ontario. Loving wife of Roy Glendon Taylor for 48 years. Fondly remembered by sister Gladys, and sister-in-law Ann Taylor. Edith’s parents George Patrick (1885-1951) and Agnes (nee Dobbs) (1886 -1983) emigrated July 1913 from Wymondham, Norfolk, England, and settled in the east end of Hamilton. Predeceased by sister Doris, and brothers George, and Stanley; and first husband Robert Howard (1916-1965). Loving mother of David Howard (Marlene), William Howard (Vivienne), and Douglas Howard. Step-mother of Glendon Taylor (Brenda). Grandmother to Karen McKibbin (Chris), Bryan Howard (Yulia), Sandra Pell (Stephen), Michael Taylor (Elyse), Michelle Lee (Nick), Claire and Elise Howard. Great-grandmother of Sebastian, Lexus, and Benley Taylor. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews as “Aunt Edie”; and as “Pat” by close family and friends. Remembered by life-long friend Marion Freeman. Retiring in 1981 from the T. Eaton Company, Edith continued to have a passion for shopping, women’s fashion, and for her high heeled shoes. For many years, Edith enjoyed hosting an annual Boxing Day Open House for family and friends. Gardening, sewing, knitting, and afghan rug hooking were activities Edith enjoyed in her younger years. Her much loved, and affectionate cats Fluffy Sr., Fluffy Jr., Pookie and Hollie will forever be with her. Visitation and funeral service at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME , 1010 Botanical Drive, BURLINGTON on Monday, July 17, 2017. Visitation from 12:00-1:00 p.m. with service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment following the service at Woodland Cemetery.
