CONTESTABILE, Gaetana “Nina” (nee Suffoletta) It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our most cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Nina passed peacefully on Monday, September 4, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital at the age of 87. Nina is now reunited with her beloved husband, Vincenzo, whom she has missed greatly over these many years. Nina will live forever in the hearts of her family. Loving mother of Anna and Chris Antonucci, Croce and Karen Contestabile, and John Contestabile. Cherished grandmother of Davide Antonucci, the late Marco Antonucci, Enzo and Jennifer Antonucci, Andrew Contestabile, and Vienna and Anthony Contestabile. Great-grand- mother to Luca and Mia Antonucci. Predeceased by her parents, Francesco and Valeria Suffoletta and parents-in-law, Croce and Gaetanina Contestabile. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Giuseppina and Nicola Monaco and predeceased by Amelia and Dino Serafini, Brigida and Gino Cellini, Giuseppe and Margherita Contestabile and Domenic and Josephine Conte. Nina will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Canada and Italy. She was a dedicated employee of St. Joseph’s Hospital for 31 years. Nina’s life was centred on her family, her home and her friends. Her eyes sparkled when the family came together for a meal or a celebration. Cooking, baking and sewing were her passions and her way of showing her love. Everyone was always welcome in her home. Nina was proud to carry on the heritage and traditions of her birthplace, Pettorano sul Gizio, Italy. Special thanks to the team of caregivers at St. Peter’s Hospital for their extraordinary care. Visitation at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E., (near James) on Thursday from 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Vigil prayers Thursday at 4:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Blessed Sacrament Church, 305 East 37th St., on Friday, September 8, 2017, at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
