FUNKE, Johannes Hans Peacefully at The Carpenter Hospice, Burlington on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Marianne Funke. Loving father of Sylvia Dawe (Steve) and Thomas Funke. Cherished grandfather of Matthew (Andrea), Sarah (Simon), Melissa (James) and Emily and great grandfather of Grace, Gavin, Hayley and Lachlan. Survived by his sister Cornelia in Germany and many nieces and nephews. As per Hans’ wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. Celebration of his life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow.
