Mary Louise

Elizabeth FRITZ

June 22, 1935 – August 1, 2016

After many years of declining health, and 2 months in hospital for critical medical issues, Mary Louise has passed away. She was the daughter of Ward McKinley Fritz and Bernice (Eilber) Fritz of Zurich and Exeter, Ontario, and the proud great-granddaughter of Henry Eilber, Conservative M.P.P. for 22 years. Born at London’s St. Joseph’s Hospital, she was raised in Zurich, Ontario. She attended South Huron District High School in Exeter and Alma College in St. Thomas. After studying Home Economics at Ryerson and training as a teacher, she taught economics her entire career at Gordon A. Brown Junior High (formerly St. Clair Junior High School in East York). Very sociable, Mary Louise had a varied and wide circle of friends, travelled extensively and liked reading, history, dogs (especially dachshunds), puffins, polar bears, nature shows and everything to do with royalty. She especially enjoyed dining out at Toronto’s best restaurants. She also liked entertaining friends at her clubs (McGill Ladies’ Club, Elmwood Ladies’ Club, R.C.Y.C. and B&R). She benefitted greatly from the devoted care and understanding of her caregivers Sharon and Evelyn, who made it possible for her to remain in her condo, as well as the assistance of Gurja and Mahesh on the concierge desk. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses on the 13th floor of the Toronto General Hospital. Friends will be received at the HUMPHREY FUNERAL HOME A.W. MILES – NEWBIGGING CHAPEL, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville Avenue) at 12:00 p.m. followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5th. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place. Remains will be interred beside her parents in the Crediton Cemetery. If desired, a memorial donation may be made to the Ontario S.P.C.A., Covenant House or Toronto General Hospital Foundation. Condolences and memories may be forwarded through www.humphreymilesnewbigging.com.
