Zelma Alene SHAND

Passed away peacefully April 3, 2017, at home in Aurora, Ontario, in her 97th year. Born September 9, 1920 in Goderich, Ontario. She was predeceased in 1972 by her husband Ross James Calder Shand and raised their two daughters Robin (Fred O’Hara) and Tracy (Joseph McNamara). She leaves loving grandchildren Meaghan, Patrick, Daniel and Owen. Predeceased by her parents Aaron C. Fischer and Lettie Fischer (nee Sprung); siblings Elgin, Ross, Beulah, Thelma, Aaron, Marie, Herman and Norma. Survived by her dearest sister Elda. A loving aunt, friend, mentor and inspiration to so many people during her lifetime. Special friend and neighbour to many on Caswell Drive, Willowdale, Ontario, for over fifty years. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6th from 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at Goulding, south of Steeles). Private interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in Zelma’s honour are gratefully accepted to CHATS (Aurora, Ontario) or a charity of choice. Condolences may be made at www.rskane.ca
