EVERARD “EV” BLACKBURN
Sunrise October 21, 1932 in Auckland, New Zealand. Sunset June 28, 2016 at Rosebridge Manor, Jasper, Ontario, peacefully at the age of 83 years with family at his side. Beloved husband of 54 years to Mary (nee Banks) and dear father of Sean Blackburn (Kelly) and David Blackburn (Lena). Sadly missed by five grandchildren (Nicolas and Stéphan in Ottawa; Jessica, Samantha and David in Texas). Everard leaves a sister Thelma Benzie and a brother Owen in Auckland, New Zealand. Ev was predeceased by a sister Valerie Blackburn. Ev was employed by Black & McDonald for over 25 years and was a member of IBEW Local 353. Proud member of Universe Lodge A.F.&A.M. No 705 G.R.C. R.W. Bro Everard became the third member of Universe Lodge to be elected D.D.G.M. of Toronto District No. 4 in 1993. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Thursday, July 7, 2016 with a memorial service from 4-6 p.m. Officers and members of Sussex Lodge No. 5 will hold a masonic service on Thursday evening at 6:45 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to The Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by Ev and his family.
