ALLAN TAYLOR JOHNSTON September 29, 1942 – July 16, 2016 Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Allan passed away peacefully in his 73rd year at Southlake Medical Centre in Newmarket, Ontario. A Celebration of Allan’s Life will be held at Meadowbrook Golf and Country Club (located at 11939 Warden Avenue, Gormley, Ontario) on July 26, 2016 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Allan served in the Air Force, before moving to Nova Scotia and becoming Executive Officer of Halifax/Dartmouth Real Estate Board. Allan then moved to Ontario and became the Toronto Real Estate Board’s General Manager of Policies and Procedures. After 10 years with TREB, he moved onto the Real Estate Council of Ontario and quickly became Registrar, where he participated in the development of regulations and the Guides to the Real Estate Business Brokers Act 2002, two of his proudest achievements that helped shape real estate regulations in Ontario. Loving husband to wife Linda, survived by brother Brian (Moira) Mathers, sister Stella Clark and loving step-daughter Stephanie MacKay. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Canadian Cancer Society in honour of Allan Johnston. The family’s sincere thanks and gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Southlake Cancer Centre and Medical Centre.
