BLACQUIERE, Rita Marie Rose (nee Poirier) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandma and Great-grandma /Mémé on March 21, 2019 in her 96th year.
Beloved wife to the late Russell (1991). Loving mother to the late Louis, Gail (Augustine), Norma (Lloyd), the late Marlene, Richard (Anne-Marie), the late Paul, Homer, Kenneth, Janine (Richard), Colleen (Ron) and the late Robert. She will be affectionately remembered by her 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grand- children.
Rita was born in and grew up in St. Raphael, PEI but spent majority of her adult life in Hamilton, Ontario. Rita was compassionately, devoted to her family and loved to have a house full. She was quite the card shark and always had baked goods ready and the kettle on. We will miss her SO very much.
Her family will receive friends at the CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Ave. E., on Monday from 6-9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 19 Viewpoint Ave., on Tuesday, March 26th at 10 a.m. with interment following in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
