DENTON, Nelson Ellery It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nelson Denton on September 19, 2017 at the age of 61. Known to many as the “pipe organ man”, Nelson worked for over 43 years in the family business with his sister Janine (R. A. Denton & Son, Pipe Organ Builders) building and maintaining church pipe organs across southern Ontario. Nelson’s long term interests in Canadian history and Genealogy had expanded well beyond his personal family tree to include his work as a curator of the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry and Friends of Auchmar (Auchmar Manor House, Hamilton, Ontario). Nelson was predeceased by his parents Marion Valerie (nee Pugh) and Ellery Armitage Denton. He will be greatly missed by his sisters Janine Denton and Liane Young (John), his loving companion Tracy Woodrow, his aunt Trudy Denton (Allan), his niece Claire Young (Stephane), his nephew Simon Young (Claudia), his great-nephews Owen and Henry Armand, and great- niece Alessandra Young. As per Nelson’s wishes there will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at Woodland Cemetery in Hamilton, Ontario.
