IU, KWAN MING (HELEN) June 18, 1927 – January 18, 2021 Kwan Ming (Helen) Iu passed peacefully on January 18, 2021 at the age of 93 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She has gone to rest with her loving husband, Po Chiu Iu.
Helen was predeceased by her brother, Sze Chik Luk, brother-in-law, Po Yat Iu, and son-in-law, Kenneth Danson and survived by her sister, Kwan Ching Kwong, sister-in-law, Shiu Ling (Betty) Iu, children Alvin, Simon (Jodi), Howard (Ines) and Jean (Rick), and by her grandchildren Andrew (Georgina), Matthew, Nicole, Adrienne and Sebastian. Although the last years have been unkind to her, Helen will be best remembered for her kindness and generosity to friends and extended family and for her pride in her grandchildren.
The family would like to express deep thanks to the staff at Sunrise of Richmond Hill for their attentive care and compassion. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of Helen’s life will be deferred until it is safe to gather again. Condolences can be left at the Kane-Jerrett Website.
