McCOWAN, ROBERT (BOB) PURDIE November 9, 1917 – January 26, 2018 A lifelong resident of Scarborough, Ontario. Just two months after his 100th birthday celebration, Robert passed away peacefully at Bendale Acres nursing home on January 26, 2018. Predeceased by his wife Marion (nee Thomson) of 52 years and his daughter Janet. Survived by his son Douglas. Dear brother of Jack, Bill and Jim and the late Helen Thomson. Loving grandfather (Poppa) to Sara (Matt), Tricia (Kevin) and Amy (Trevor). Fondly remembered by his seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 115 St. Andrews Road, Scarborough, on Saturday, February 3, 2018. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the service at 11 a.m.
