In his 90th year, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernie on June 6, 2017. Married for over 68 years, Bernie was deeply devoted to his wife Gladys, his children Penny, Craig and daughter-in-law, Helen. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Justin, Cameron, Spencer, Giovanna and Gemma. Bernie was born in Paisley, Ontario and left the family farm at age 16. He established himself in Toronto in the field of banking, credit reporting and collections. Bernie went on to found Collection Control, one of the early nation-wide collection services. He will be fondly remembered by many friends at St. George’s Golf and Country Club, as well as business colleagues and past customers. A Funeral Service will be held at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., (in between Kipling & Islington Aves.) on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. A burial will follow at St. Philip’s Churchyard Cemetery.
