Dr. Doreen Anne YOUNG
August 26, 1933 – June 19, 2016
Dr. Doreen Anne Young passed away peacefully on June 19th at Harmony Hills Sienna after a valiant struggle with various afflictions over the last several years.
Doreen was much loved and will be missed by her cousin and friend, Trygve John Ringereide and spouse Marian, her dear friends, Kathy Vlieg and spouse Peter, Lene Hehir, cousins Margaret, Hugh, Nancy, Jean, David, Elizabeth, Catherine, Deborah, and their families and other special friends.
Doreen became a Doctor in 1960, at a time when few women were engaged in the profession. She had a successful general practise for many years before completing her distinguished career with the Workplace Safety Insurance Board.
Doreen was a caring and kind friend who also loved animals, especially her Shelties, Randy, Robbie and Blue. Doreen’s love of travel took her to many places around the world.
She is predeceased by her parents Hugh and Jean Young and brother Dr. Donald Young.

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Dr. Doreen Young will be held on Friday, July 15th at 12 noon at Presteign Woodbine United Church (16 Presteign Ave., Toronto, ON M4B 3A8, 416-755-8352).
