Eleanor Beatrice PARKINSON

(nee NEILL)

Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Wednesday July 27, 2016. Born in 1930 in London, Ontario and a longtime resident of Don Mills she enjoyed her final years in Newmarket at The Roxborough Residence. Eleanor is predeceased by her parents Ralph and Gladys Neill and brother Robert Neill and husband Grant Gilbert Parkinson. She is survived by her children Catherine (Brian) Raaflaub, Christian (Anne) Parkinson and Bill (Hayley) Parkinson and her nine adoring grandchildren; Hannah, Emma, Madeline Raaflaub, Andrew, Bradley, Thomas and Katie Parkinson, Cameron and Christian Parkinson and special nieces and nephews; Shelley and Brian Parkinson and Ellen, Susan and Ralph Neill.

Eleanor was a graduate of London Normal School and University of Western Ontario teaching in a one-room schoolhouse in Strathroy and at Victoria Park Public School in East York. She was an active member of University Women’s Club, North York, her dynamic Don Mills bridge group, the Church of Our Saviour ACW and volunteered for many charitable organizations.

She will be truly missed by all her family and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at Church of our Saviour, 1 Laurentide Drive, Don Mills, on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Church of our Saviour in her name.
