Frank BOLLA
BOLLA, Frank 85, of Stoney Creek, passed away on January 22, 2017 in Pine Villa Nursing Home. Frank was born December 8, 1932 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Frank is preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy and their children Linda Bullock, Rickie Bolla and survived by their daughter Wendy McCready. He is preceded by his second wife Jean Byford and survived by his third wife, Eleanor Bolla and her children Betty Mercer, Christine Edward, Johnny McGuirk. Proud Grandfather and Great Grandfather and friend of many. Frank was passionate about all sports. In his 20’s he was a boxer, winning the Canadian Golden Glove Championship. He played touch football and organized the first formal league back in Lachine, Que., in 1961 which he brought to Burlington and continued to play into his 80th year. Organizing and participating in the annual “Bolla Bowl” that continues on in his memory. A Funeral Service will take place at DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home, ROBINSON CHAPEL (King Street East at Wellington) Hamilton 905-522-2496 on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel.
