MEYERINK, Geertje “Gail” (Medendorp) (nee Buitenhuis) 1924 – 2017 Born in the Netherlands to the late Engbert and Jantje Buitenhuis, Gail passed away at Shalom Manor in Grimsby on Monday, May 22, 2017 at the age of 93. Beloved wife of George Meyerink and the late Ties Jan Medendorp (1980). Survived by her sister Jenny Brink in Holland. Cherished mother of Jetty (Adrian) Boer, John (Cindy) Medendorp, Janet (Bob) Holtrop, Ed (Joann) Medendorp and Gerald (Kelly) Medendorp. Loving step-mother of Trina Meyerink, Anita Nippard, Fred (Dale) Meyerink, Hetty Urie and Gene (Elizabeth) Meyerink. Dear Oma of 28 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her many extended family and friends. Predeceased by her parents, grandson Jesse and by 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Special thanks to her doctors and caregivers at Shalom for their compassion. Visitation at Mountainview Christian Reformed Church, 290 Main Street East, Grimsby on Saturday, May 27, 2017, from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Interment Mountain View Cemetery in Thunder Bay, Ontario at a later date.
