Passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Tuesday, July 19th, 2016. Devoted father of Sheila Leslie and Karen and Patrick Bradley. Adored Papa to his grandchildren Mariah, Kathleen and Evan Bradley. Special friend to his “sweetie” Dorothy Nugent. Predeceased by his wife Jean (Sherriffs) 2001, by his parents George and Mariah (Kelly), and by his siblings Mary (Edward) Penman, Jean (Doug) Brown, Lloyd, Charles and Kelvin Leslie. Fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law Marjorie, Margaret and Eva Leslie. Born in Paisley, Bruce County and resident of Oshawa, former longtime employee of Houdaille Industries. Gregarious, talented and immensely kind, Gerry was known for his love of music and poetry, his strong sense of social justice, elephantine memory, his humour and wit. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Sunday, July 24th from 2:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted to a charity of your choice.
